Halloween King for a Day

I saw this video from Green Day’s Halloween show in Manchester. Billie is transformed into Frankenstein at one point and it’s pretty funny.

To all my Rocktober peeps who are seeing the Foxboro Hot Tubs tonight, have a great time! Wish I could be there!

Green Day on BBC’s Jonathan Ross

(Since my computer is still down, I’m on my iPhone and can’t properly link at the moment.)

Green Day was on the Jonathan Ross show last night from the UK and performed a smoking hot version of the smoking hot song, “East Jesus Nowhere.” They played a game, “Monster or Celebrity” and additional guest, actor Christopher Walken, read Lady Gaga’s “Pokerface” as spoken word poetry. The video link below doesn’t have the game or Walken, but you can view that on the BBC repeat on November 1st at 2:10 AM or on BBC America next Friday. I’ll have to check the time for the latter. In the meanwhile, 21st Century Drum Player uploaded the clip below.

Green Day Absolute Radio Interview from Birmingham, UK

Great interview conducted yesterday with the boys in Birmingham on Absolute Radio. Funny and relaxed, they are having a great time on this tour. Thanks to GDA on Facebook for the headsup on the video being posted.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

The Breakdown will be Twittered: Green Day Edition @greenday

Oh my frigging Lushie Gods, I have heard a Verified Rumor via GDA that the band known as Green Day, those dudes who recently wrote a song about not being part of the Modern World, have wrestled their fledgling and oh so boring Twitter account from whomever decided just to post boring stuff about albums and videos and tour dates and what not instead of fun and stupid stuff like singer Pink, comedienne Sandra Bernhardt, my college friend, actress Rachel True, and a host of other cool people do. Unless your taking part in the Iranian Green Revolution, no one should take Twitter seriously. I’m sure that they were just testing it out, but now that Tré has stolen the password, there should be some funny stuff fulminating around his Twitter parts.

Anyway, it seems that Tré and maybe others will be Tweeting (the regular boring stuff), Twitting (hmmm) and Twatting (oh yes) while maybe not a storm up, some fun stuff on occasion.

Here’s Tré’s first Tweet:

I am trying to put on guy liner with my feet – tre

DUDE! Good luck with that!

Rocktober Idiots in London

This was only a fraction of the Rocktober Idiots who met up from around the world (including Germany, the U.S., Australia, Brazil, and South Africa) for a crazy weekend of Green Day at London’s O2. We had a fabulous time and sang loudly to Green Day music at the Slug and Lettuce restaurant. More to come!

Green Day London, October 24, 2009

I got back to the hotel an hour ago from seeing Green Day for the second night at the 02 in London. I’ll have to write more about it when I get back to the States. I just wanted to write that of the shows I went to in the States and the first London gig, the second night at the 02 blew all of them hands down out of the water. The boys were on fire tonight singing several older songs but the treat for me was a full band rendition of “Give Me Novacaine.” “Novacaine” is my favorite song off of American Idiot and hearing it live was soul cleansing.

Anyway, I’ll write more when I get back to the States next week. I’m very sad to be leaving and not attending more of the English gigs, but really, my dreams of seeing them in England have come true. I got everything that I needed from this show. Plus, I’m bringing one of Tre’s drumsticks home with me.

Thank you, Billie Joe, Mike and Tre, tonight was kinda special. Thank you.

Rocktober is Out of the House!

Ok, that’s a pretty stupid headline, but I don’t care. I’m off to see Green Day in London. My flight takes off from JFK at 9:00 and I’ll be standing in London’s 02 tomorrow night. All I can say is… “Welcome to Paradise!”

Shoot to Thrill: Green Day in Belfast Photographs

AARRGGHHH! - Shoot to Thrill photos by Ramsey Cardy

Ramsey Cardy from the Green Day Community shot a small set of great photographs from the show in Belfast. View the entire set on his website at Shoot to Thrill or click the pic. As usual, the Black and White one caught my eye the most, but the ones in color from his site are stunning. Great work, Ramsey!

21st Century Breakdown Video – Only Available Outside of the U.S.

The new Green Day video to the International release (except for the United States) of “21st Century Breakdown” came out this morning. Americans can’t view it yet, but until further notice you can stream it here.

It’s fucking brilliant as far as I’m concerned.

Thank you, Marc Webb.

Thank you, Green Day.

And thank you, Green Day Authority.

Update: Stupid Warner Brothers asked the GDA to take down the video. Maybe next time that they release a video without giving it to the actual fans, they’ll think twice about their marketing, but I doubt it. Warner Brothers makes one stupid decision after another regarding Green Day material, so I don’t expect it to stop anytime soon. You can now buy the video to “21st Century Breakdown” from iTunes. Thank you Andres, for giving them an earful, too… even if they really could care less about a band’s fans.

Update 2: Green Day has uploaded the video to “21st Century Breakdown” to their Myspace page.

UPDATE: The Myspace link sometimes says you can’t get the video in the States. Don’t know if this really works, but try this also: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=64375394

Prima Donna Rockin’ Europe

During Green Day’s North American tour, I was lucky to see all three of the opening bands: The Bravery, Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand. All of the bands were solid, but except for the shear antics of The Bravery, they never seemed to rock the stadium as hard as Prima Donna seems to be doing in Europe as the opening band for Green Day. Here’s a sample of Youtube videos and while the sound quality isn’t all that great on the first video, the energy is amazing! London is going to rock!
