Via the Green Day Fan Flickr Group and Tedifer at the GDC, comes a wonderful set of photographs from Green Day’s appearance in Barcelona on 10/1/09. A few nice shots of Mike Dirnt and one of Tré Cool, the photographs are mostly of Billie Joe Armstrong, but a few are of the band and the audience. And Billie is wearing a different shirt (it was white in Madrid). These are the things that count…
Check out Toni Villen’s other band photographs here.
WAKE UP, BILLIE JOE! SEPTEMBER IS OVER!! It’s ROCKTOBER!
Green Day hit the European point of their tour this past Monday in Lisbon and I’m hitting the UK to see them in 23 DAYS! It’s Rocktober, baby, and England is gonna be a blast!!
Rob Putnam interviewed Stephanie for the Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 online edition of Music Connection. The active link to the article at Music Connection is no longer working. The link above will take you to a PDF of Rob’s article on Stephanie. Thanks to Rob for letting me post the article! Sorry it took a bit of time to update this!
greenday.com posted a new interview with the band on the making of American Idiot. It’s a good interview, though it starts off with some slow and inane questions and the band looks eternally bored at certain times. They warm up to the questions eventually and there are some funny moments, particularly when Billie Joe says that Tré Cool choreographed the show. At the end, there are two very very brief clips of the show live. The video can’t be embedded, so go here and view it.
Greenday.com has put out the second (“American Eulogy” being the first, which was a shortened video of the song*) live clip from Green Day’s North American tour. This one is of my favorite song from 21st Century Breakdown, “East Jesus Nowhere” and it will make you want to JUMP! Turn the volume past 11 and DO IT!
update: There is some confusion on the Green Day fan clubs as to whether this video now constitutes an “official” release since greenday.com noted two weeks ago that “21st Century Breakdown” was going to be the next single. I am not really sure what is now going on in the Singles department, but if there are simultaneous releases of both songs, officially or unofficially, I am down with that. I love “East Jesus Nowhere”!
*hatthip to MassHysteria for pointing out the video from Greenday.com; post updated 9/19/09
This backstage video was shot last night at the VMAs. Mike Dirnt expresses thanks to we fans for voting for “21 Guns.” I know I voted about 100 times. The second part of the video shows a backstage perspective of Green Day’s performance of “East Jesus Nowhere.”
On another note, I had to work at Bryant Park yesterday, which isn’t far from Radio City Music Hall, so I walked up to Radio City to see if I could see the boys at rehearsal… and missed them going into Radio City by five minutes. But I waited for them to come out and they finally did. I yelled out, “See you in London next month,” and Tré gave me a funny face and I gave him one back. Unfortunately, the video I took sucks balls, so I won’t be putting it up here.
Green Day also performed at the VMA’s tonight and did a rocking version of “East Jesus Nowhere.” Billie snuck in the line, “all the fucks that never learned to read.” bwahaha. The boys… they know how to rock. If MTV posts a video that I can link to, I’ll do that as soon as possible.
Congrats, Green Day, you completely deserve it!
